Carnaby

Colours of Carnaby – London

In early 2018 I was commissioned to work in London, at the same time I took the chance to spend time in and around Carnaby to capture the vibrancy of one of the City’s most well known and best loved districts.

I spent many a day walking through the lanes, speaking to shop owners, stopping people to talk to them as they wandered the bustling streets or just sitting outside one of the many eateries and coffee shops – watching and capturing street life – day and night.

It is often said there is nothing like London Life, I can certainly vouch for that!

This was a great opportunity to find out just how warm and friendly our Capital can be. I found everyone I spoke to more than happy to share their time and thoughts – some over a coffee –  or simply to be part of the project I was working on by allowing me add them to it.

As cosmopolitan as London is I have always found it to be one of the most open, inclusive and unique places I have ever worked but then I guess that is because I go there with that same attitude and approach. Diversity is a good thing and our Communities are all the better for it – long may we continue to embrace it and celebrate it.

That is truly British.
