The Queens Platinum Jubliee – Stamford Celebrations

Since becoming a Councillor I have had the privilage of being elected to a number of council committees that enable me to be more involved in my community. One such role is that of sitting on the Events Committee – I am delighted with this appointment as it enables me to use my many years of experience from other roles I have had.

Our most recent commitment was to deliver a weekend of celebrations held at our local recreation ground to mark the Queens Platinum Jubilee. Months in the planning, we were delighted that the Town came together to mark this prestigeous – once in a lifetime – event. As someone that was on duty for the entire day I had a ringside seat to all the festivities that enabled me to capture key moments during the course of the event, in particular, the lighting of the beacon at 9.45pm, to be in unison with the rest of the Country.

Present to help us do so was the Town Mayor – Cllr David Taylor – His Deputy, Cllr Andrew Croft in his capacity as Chairman of the Events Committee, as well as the Deputy Lord Lieutenant Of Lincolnshire – Gary Waterfall.
